Hervey Bay Fly and Sportfishing operates in the unique fishery of Hervey Bay, which is one of very few places in Australia that has an overlap of southern and northern species. Snapper, Barramundi, flathead, threadfin salmon, longtail tuna, GT's, queenfish, juvenile black marlin, golden trevally and more can all be caught when fishing in this unique location. Fraser Island to the East protects Hervey Bay from the south easterly trade winds, this gives anglers access to sheltered fishing conditions year round.

Hervey Bay is also known as the whale watching capital of the world. The majestic Humpback whale inhabits their waters from July through to November. Dolphins, dugongs, marine turtles, shore and seabirds, the elusive Fraser Island dingo and much more wildlife can be seen whilst fishing this diverse area.
